About us

Holmecroft nestles at the foot of the Howgill Fells on the edge of Sedbergh, a quaint old market town situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Twixt Lakes and Dales. Holmecroft is an excellent base for walking and touring.

We offer friendly hospitality in bright comfortable accommodation with Twin, Double and Single rooms available. Homemade bread and local homemade preserves compliment our traditional full English breakfast.

All guests are welcomed into our home with our own welcome tray with homemade cake.

Accommodation

Holmecroft was built in 1926 and is a detached house with Lakeland stone being used as part of its construction.

Our garden is stocked with many interesting plants and provides much pleasure for our guests.

We have three bedrooms to accommodate guests, one double, one twin and a single, these are bright and welcoming as seen from the photographs above. Guests also have use of their own sitting room.

Each room enjoys views of the surrounding Howgill & Middleton Fells, and is equipped with co-ordinated bedding and curtains. All rooms have washbasins and individually operated radiators.

Holmecroft has a no-smoking policy throughout the house. Pets are permitted by prior arrangement only.

Brigflatts - dated 1675, a very atmospheric Quaker Meeting House, being the second oldest in the country

St Andrew's Church, Sedbergh.

The little town of Dent, set in the wonderful setting of Dentdale

Farfield Mill - still has Victorian looms working. High class crafts made and sold on the premises.

Sedbergh has easy access to the M6 and all points of the compass. Situated as we are in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and yet so close to all the Lake District has to offer.

Holmecroft is 4.2 from junction 37 off the M6 Motorway, on the A684. Holmecroft is situated on the left hand side about 200 Yards past the local garage which is on the right .
